How Do I Open a Drop-In Spot?

Short on players? Captains can open Drop-In spots through the Volo App to give other registered players a chance to join the game.

Opening spots early gives you the best chance to fill your lineup.

How to Open a Spot

Only the team captain can open Drop-In spots directly through their Volo account.

  1. Go to your Dashboard and select RSVPs, Roster & Manage Drop-Ins for the program.
  2. On your team’s lineup page, select Open For Drop-In for each spot you need.
  3. Select the pencil/edit icon next to an open spot to add details such as a goalie, catcher, or applicable gender preference.
  4. Save your Drop-In preferences once everything is updated.

Not the Team Captain?

If you’re helping coordinate for the team but are not the captain, email your local Volo team and CC the team captain.

Include the number of Drop-In spots you would like opened so the local team can help with the request.

Want to Invite a Friend?

Once a spot is open, the captain can share the direct Drop-In link with a friend.

Your friend has 10 minutes to register and claim the spot before it becomes available to other players through the Drop-In marketplace.

Anyone joining must complete their registration and required waiver before participating.

Once a Spot Is Claimed

A confirmed Drop-In spot belongs to that player for the game.

If a rostered player later becomes available, they cannot remove or replace the confirmed Drop-In.

Only open the number of spots your team realistically expects to need.
