What’s Your Substitute Policy?

We know not everyone can make it every week. If your team needs extra players, captains can open Drop-In spots through the Volo App. This feature ensures that only rostered and registered participants are able to play in our programs.


How it works:

  1. Go to your Dashboard and select RSVPs, Roster & Manage Drop-Ins
  2. Choose Open Spots (or Manage Drop-Ins if prompted)
  3. Select the number of spots, gender preferences if needed, and click Open Spots


Once spots are opened:

  • Players can claim them through the marketplace on their Discover page
  • Captains can also share a direct link with friends, who have a 10 minute window to claim before the spot opens to the marketplace
  • Any player who claims a spot must be allowed to play, even if original rostered players later arrive

If a drop-in spot is not filled, you may use someone already registered in your league as a substitute.


***Important***:

  • Only rostered or registered participants may play in Volo programs
  • No drop-ins or subs are allowed during playoffs
  • Roster updates due to injury must be submitted in writing to your local city office before the end of the regular season
